Tuesday, June 12, 2007 I am back from vacation... struggling to get back into the non-beach routine. No long walks looking for shells and beach glass... no napping listening to the sound of waves crashing... *sigh* I have a gazilion pictures... not uploaded yet... but here is one I pulled out. Just as I expected there were oodles of chubby beach horses wandering around the Outer Banks. One morning I counted 35. They didn't pay us much attention, except for one time a group of four came right up to our beach chairs and tried to eat my dad's hat. And it was on his head.  The pictures will be forthcoming. LOVE the chubby beach horses, I can't believe they just wander around the beach like that. Beautiful. I hope to take a vacation out there one day! When I went on a road trip in November 2005, we passed Rochester on our way to Buffalo (we live in Quebec city). The wild horses are in the 4x4 area of the Outer Banks and they wander the beach during the day then head up to the dunes at night.
