Last year my mom got me this hammock chair swing, but I didn't have anywhere to hang it. Until now. The giant tree in the back is just the right size.

It's very comfy.

I was in NYC for the day and Shruti and I stumbled upon Butter Lane Cupcakes. They were on "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" so you know they must be good.

Yeah. They were tasty. You can pick chocolate, vanilla or banana cake and then lots of different kinds of frosting... caramel, strawberry, pistachio and more!

And they have cupcake classes!

Zoe is a pretty boy that likes to be the center of attention. And really... who doesn't like to be?

Zoe is an 8-year-old male cat who is back at Lollypop Farm through no fault of his own. He is a super affectionate lap cat who loves having his beautiful white coat brushed. While he has lived with other cats and dogs, he might prefer to be the only pet, because he loves to be the center of attention. Zoe is eligible for our Seniors-for-Seniors program, so adopters age 60 and older can take him home free of charge! He is also one of our Featured Felines this week, so now through Sunday, you can adopt him for just $25!

We haven't started painting or really decorating the new house yet. My mind is so full of ideas and one of them is making use of these awesome decals by local artist, Shanna Murray.

I love the simple yet elegant sketch quality of these designs - it's hard to believe they are decals.

I am planning on picking some of these up in person this Sunday, when Shanna is having a tea party to celebrate the launch of this decal line at Thread. Thread is in the South Wedge of Rochester and the par-tay is from 1 to 3pm.

There are even word decals! Oh and they can go on windows too!
Now my big problem is which decals to get and what color! I haven't nailed down the room colors yet, so this is very tricky! Of course I could always order them from the website... but I am one for instant gratification.

Since we adopted Stewie, we don't know when he was born. So instead of his birthday, we celebrate his coming home day! Today he got a dish of his favorite food with a candle he tried to blow out by willing it with his mind... hence the instense look of concentration. Happy Coming Home Day Stewie!

When we were at Jeff Pulvers 140 Conference we got to meet Ann Curry. I was thrilled because not only is she one smart cookie but she is a great photographer. I loved this Today Show segment where Ann talks about how her photography hobby helps her maintain a work-life balance.

I'm in NYC for the 140 Conference and Aaron is here too for training. It doesn't work out like that very often but we took advantage of it and stopped in at Beard Papas for some cream puffs.

This little guy was waiting at the door... hoping for a cream puff.

He was BORRRRRN in the USAAAAA! He's the Boss! (sorry I couldn't resist!)

Boss is a 2-year-old male pit bull mix was brought to Lollypop Farm because his owner was moving and couldn't bring him along. He weighs about 55 pounds. Boss is a strong guy who loves to run and play. He loves treats, too! Boss would love an active owner and he would make a great jogging partner! He would be happiest in a home without kids under 12 and needs to meet any dogs in the household before adoption to make sure they'll be buddies. Boss needs to be signed up for obedience training with his new owner, and you'll get a discount on your first class at Lollypop Farm!
PS - Abby is still available too!
It's the season for blooming, and despite the fact that Aaron has been chopping down all the shrubbery around the new house (as discussed in AaronSaysJennySays Blog) there are a few things that escaped his chainsaw.

I love our magnolia tree. It took forever to bloom and Aaron is already grumbling about all the petals that will fall and cover the ground, but I love it.

A straggly forsythia bush survived his reign of terror in the backyard and I brought a few branches inside.

Even Oscar is enjoying all the blooms!

Aaron and I went to Donuts Delite for breakfast and there were the usual tasty looking donuts. I noticed they had some with breakfast cereal on them (on the right).

We also noticed they had a breakfast sandwich... that you can get on a bagel or croissand OR A DONUT! With tater tots! I am down with the tater tots, those make total sense. They are just like a hash brown rolled up into a... tot.
The donut sandwich? I think we will have to try it and report back on AaronSaysJennySays blog!

As much as I love technology and new gadgets, I still have a soft spot for records. I started off collecting movie soundtrack records, but I have a few others that you just can't find on CD... like this one pictured "More Music for Relaxation". My mom has found some good ones, like the Ventures and Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass. I have another album that is "Sounds of Paris". There is just something about the way an album like that sounds as a record on a record player.

I was tweeting about listening to my records today when a friend informed me that today is Record Store Day! What are the chances? Aaron and I stopped by a local store, Record Archive to check things out. They had a $1 sale, food and live bands. I didn't get any records, (I got 4 DVDS) but it was still pretty cool.
Lately you may have seen some funky pics popping up on my blog. Aaron downloaded the Hipstamatic App on his iPhone and I thought it was so much fun, I got it too.

I love how it makes pics look vintage. More interesting somehow.

It even makes cows look hip.
Photojojo just made a great guide to all the different filters in the Hipstamatic App. Very useful!

I don't know how we went this long without trying Dogtown Hots. Well actually I do. We thought it was just another garbage plate knockoff joint. A couple weeks ago I had a hankering for a hot dog and we decided to try it. It wasn't what we expected at all!

They have so many different kinds of hot dogs to choose from! My favorite is the St. Bernard - sauerkraut, swiss and mustard. They use Rochester Zweigle hots and even the buns are custom made rolls from Martusciello’s.
It's so good, the night I got back from LA guess where we went! : )

After attending BlogPaws, i came home with a renewed appreciation for folks that adopt rescued pets. Then I watched this video and *sniffle* it hit home even more.
So here is Abby - doesn't it look like she is singing backup in a band? Ooooooooh!

Abby is a 3-year-old female pit bull mix who weighs 55 pounds. She was returned to Lollypop Farm because her family was moving and did not take her along. Abby is a friendly and energetic dog who likes people. She has lived with other dogs before and did well with them, but she does need to meet any dogs in the household to make sure they’ll get along. Abby would do best with kids age 6+. She needs to be signed up for obedience training by her new adopter – we think she’ll do well, because she’s a smart girl!

I saw this in a Starbucks in Columbus. Aside from being terrified that i would knock it over reaching for my white chocolate mocha and erase the entire thing - i thought it was pretty cool!
After a week of travel I'm now heading home. My last stop was LA to cover the Streamys for work.

I got to work with some very cool bloggers there.

And Tina was on the scene too. It was a great event, but I'm ready to be home!

One of the pet products on display at BlogPaws was the Mattel Puppy Tweets. It's a little electronic dog tag that sends messages from your dog to your computer and then twitter! Oscar hasn't been very good about tweeting lately so maybe i should get him one of these.

I was browsing a pet shop in the Denver airport when i spotted these. Dog treat PEZ dispensers! How cool are these?! I think Oscar needs one of these too!

I was invited to speak at BlogPaws, a pet blogger conference. As anyone that reads my blog knows, I love blogging about my pets, so I was excited to go. Really I was supposed to be talking about Kodak, but I took the opportunity to share as many photos of Oscar and Stewie that I could.
Check it out, they are models for these Top Ten Tips for Taking Great Pet Photos!

I loved seeing all the pets that came to the conference. This pug greeted guests from a reclined position all day. Most laid back pug ever.

And look at this fella. He was rescued two years ago. What a big baby!
The conference was great - good information and a lot of passionate pet lovers!

Thanks to some great responses on Twitter and Facebook, I knew the one place I had to go to in Columbus, Ohio was North Market.

And the spot that was there that everyone mentioned was Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams.

They had amazing flavors. These are two of the flavors I tried, along with a scoop of pear. I really loved the buttermint.

It's not spelled the same way I spell my name, but I loved this t-shirt. I just had to get one!

I wish the market had this poster - I think it looks like Aaron.
If you are in Columbus, Ohio... you should definitely check out North Market.
I don't know if it's all the traveling I'm doing that has me looking at travel accessories or the surplus of time I have wandering around airports.... but these are some recent finds.

I love Fluff designs, especially since pugs make an appearance. I just got the pug luggage tag in the middle.

I also got one of these luggage handle wraps. It triples as a cushiony wrap, a colorful identifier and also has your contact info on the inside.

The strap is extra security in case the velcro comes loose. These are made by Bucky, the company that makes buckwheat pillows.

Which is what I want next. I love the fabric designs. I really want one of these Bucky travel pillows for snoozing on flights.
