HOP at Kodak Picture Kiosks

Everyone knows I love bunnies and chick peeps so I am thrilled that Kodak is working with HOP the movie. You can print HOP themed photobooks, cards and prints at Kodak Picture Kiosks. More here on 1000Words and the Kodak HOP landing page. I am totally making HOP cards for my peeps this Easter.

I spent way too much time at the Kiosk in our office making cards featuring my favorite subjects.

Adorable!

I also watched every single trailer and downloaded every single desktop picture from the HOP website iwantcandy.com

Dictionary prints

On my list of things to do in 2011, #8 was "buy art for the house". I just bought a slew of these awesome prints on Etsy. The shop has a buy three get one free special. They are hilarious - animals dressed up fancy - printed on dictionary pages. The one in the upper left corner is called "Dandy Cat". I love that they used upcycled dictionary pages. I am pretty sure they pick pages with words that match the illustration. I can't wait to frame them.

Pet of the week

I think this is quite possibly the coolest looking kitty. Three kitties mashed into one.

Caramel #12257774

Caramel is a two-year-old female calico cat. Her coat is a striking patchwork of orange, black and white that reminds you of a Harlequin mask. Caramel was brought to the Lollypop Farm in January because of allergies in her previous home. This pretty kitty gets along with dogs and kids, but doesn't like to share her time or space with other cats. She is a bit frustrated with shelter life, and is currently enjoying office life here at Lollypop Farm. Caramel is anxious to find her forever home! Do you have room in your home and heart for this sweetie? Come meet her today...she may be your next Harlequin in fur!

Granite, the dog from last week, is still waiting to be adopted.

We had to go to the Smart dealer in Buffalo to pick up Aaron's repaired Smarty. I nearly passed out when I walked in and saw this pink Smart Car!

You can get so many cool colors and patterns for the Smart Car.

Captn' Stewie

One more pet look alike comparison.

I think Stewie is the splitting image of Captain Jack Sparrow. No?

Oscar/Baby Seal

While I'm at it I might as well share Oscar's look alike too.

I think pretty much any baby seal looks like Oscar.

Hugo lookalike

I just had a revelation. This is not the most demonstrative photo, but there are times when Hugo looks just like Pepe the King Prawn. What do you think?

Pet of the week

A greyhound named Granite! Too cute! Long, tall and lanky too!

Granite #12272853

Granite was transferred to Lollypop Farm in the hopes that we would find him a new home. He is one tall dog! This 2-year-old greyhound mix is curious, playful, and eager to please. He loves to play with toys and likes people. A favorite pastime is chasing squirrels; he also likes to chase cats, so he needs to go to a cat-free home. Granite should meet everyone in the family, dogs too, to make sure he will be a good addition to your pack. A home with children six and older is recommended. Training classes would be a good idea for Granite, and you'll get an adopter's discount if you take them at Lollypop Farm! Why not come and meet Granite today!

Bianca, the cat from last week, is still waiting to be adopted.

St. Patrick's Day Cake Pops

I wanted to make cake pops for my peeps for St. Patrick's Day, so I came up with the idea of cake pops that look like little pots of gold.

I thought they were pretty funny, but most people couldn't tell what they were. They kept looking for a nose and eyes. Several commented they look like Charlie Brown heads. Oh well.

St. Patrick's Day grub

St. Patrick's Day food - we cooked a corned beef with carrots, potatoes and cabbage - nom nom.

I also couldn't pass up a stick of Irish butter. Garlic & herb butter. Butterrrrrrr.

Pet of the week

How cool! Bianca has different colored eyes. She is like the David Bowie of cats.

Bianca #12125552

Bianca is a 5-year-old white cat who weighs 11.5 pounds. She has two different colored eyes, one blue and one yellow! This beautiful girl enjoys being petted and loves to have her fur coat brushed. She is a friendly, sweet girl who would love to be the only pet in the household. She would also prefer a home without young children because they make her nervous. Bianca has been at Lollypop Farm since December and has been Purrfectly Patient waiting for her new forever home. If you are interested in adopting Bianca, she is available for just $35. Bianca can’t wait to meet you and become a member of your family!

Nikki, the dog from last week, is still waiting to be adopted.

Brunch Spots in Rochester

One of my favorite things about the weekend is brunch. It's breakfast, it's lunch - it's magical.

My friend Joel has been telling me weekly how great Food at Fishers Station in Victor is. It's a tiny place and very understated - so much so Tina can't even find it. We found it and yes, the eggs and sausage are good.... but the PANCAKES. The pancakes are amazing. I can't believe how light, fluffy and soft they are. I don't even understand how it's possible. So. Good.

They also bring your jam in a little jam jar.

Of course Jim's is still our favorite. We love everything there. Mmm oatmeal.

Favorite Rochester Brunch Spots and my favorite orders

Donuts Delite - Banana Cream Donut

James Brown's Place - Stuffed Banana Bread French Toast

Jim's Restaurant - Southern Special

Balsam Bagel - Toasted French Toast Bagel with Maple Walnut Cream Cheese

Monterrey Mexican Taco at the Public Market - Breakfast Taco

South Wedge Diner - Eggs in a Basket

Hicks and McCarthy - Stuffed French Toast

The Gatehouse - Grilled Muffin Bread with Vanilla Cream Cheese

Food at Fishers Station - Pancakes, Pancakes, Pancakes

Cooking with Red Pack Tomatoes

I was practically relieved when someone from Red Pack Tomatoes contacted me and asked if I wanted to try some of their canned tomatoes. it has been a long winter and I was starting to run out of meal ideas without fresh veggies.

What a treat to open the giant can and find not only canned tomatoes but kitchen goodies and recipes.

I was a little skeptical at first. I ususally can tomatoes from my garden in the summer. Would these be as good? I was really in need of some tomatoes this winter. Since we moved into the new house this year, Aaron had to build a new garden bed and I planted my tomatoes too late. We didn't get a good crop and I didn't get to can any tomatoes.

Red Pack says their mission is “To produce the freshest, best tasting tomato products in the world.” I have to say they are quite good. Aaron picked out a recipe from the Red Pack website for South of the Border Chowder. It turned out so tasty. The tomatoes are full flavored and the chowder was perfect for a cold, rainy March evening. Aaron said when he was warming up the leftovers at the office everyone was asking him what smelled so good. I'll be trying more recipes from the site.

I love a brand with a sense of humor. Red Pack only does tomatoes. If you click on the other veggies that pop up on their site you get funny messages. They don't know anything about beets. Or brussel sprouts.

Wegmans St. Patrick's Day Frog Cupcakes

It's time again for the Wegmans frog cupcakes. I still haven't figured out what the connection is between St. Patrick's Day and frogs, but the cupcakes are so good, it doesn't matter.

An entire swampful of frog cupcakes waiting to go home with someone!

Starbucks petite treats

Starbucks now has petite desserts.

Is Starbucks following my blog? Yes, I am a fan of all mini food. But look at these mini treats... I have mentioned most of these in just the past few weeks. Cake pops?! Salted Caramels?! Whoopie pies and mini cupcakes go way back!

Pet of the week

It would be so nice if when the snow has melted and it's time to romp in the grass if Nikki had a home and a backyard to do it in!

Nikki #11616736

Nikki is a 3-year-old Bulldog/Pit Bull mix who weighs 46 pounds. She was rescued by our Law Enforcement officers in October because she was not being treated properly. Nikki had a rough start in life, so she is a little unsure of new situations and takes her time getting to know new people. She enjoys her space, so a home with children over the age of 12 is recommended. This sweet girl needs a patient adopted who will take the time to help her regain her confidence. If you are interested in meeting Nikki bring out the whole family to meet her, including any dogs in the household to make sure they’ll be buddies! Please consider giving this deserving girl a warm home to call her own!

Ginger, the cat from last week, is still waiting to be adopted.
