We spent our traditional New Years Eve evening at my grandparent's cabin. Aaron and I went up earlier in the day to help get it ready.

I shoveled.

And Aaron lit the lanterns. There is no electricity.

He did a pretty good job.

My mom also had the idea of lighting candles and placing them on the cabin porch.

Oscar the arctic pug and Wally had a good time at the mountain.

Stewie had a party at home and we found him in a fine state the next morning.

Aaron and i went home for the weekend and stayed at my Grandfather's cabin in the woods with my parents. No computer, no cell phones... off the grid. We went for walks...

... and I took lots of pictures.

I took lots of moss photos.

Oscar thought he was king of the mountain.

I also took a lot of naps in front of the fire. It was just what I needed.
