I love decorating for Valentines Day. (ok what holiday DON'T I love to decorate for?) I was excited to set up my heart tree in the new house. I had Aaron get me an extra big branch for it since we have more room now.
It looks so nice on our mantle with my other bits and bobs. The red really stands out. Almost makes me want to keep the living room white. Hah - almost.

I got two of these smoking guys last year in Germany. You put incense inside and the smoke comes out his mouth. I haven't used it because I was a little nervous about putting a burning cone inside a wood object.
I finally gave it a shot and it worked pretty well. This does not mean I condone smoking for real people.

We wondered if we should get a bigger tree this year for the bigger house. The one we picked isn't much rounder - but it is taller! It looks funny all wrapped up.
It took us all night but we finally got it decorated.
Stewie was no help. He just laid around in his Christmas sweater. No help at all.

I haven't been to Pier One in years but recently I have been finding a lot of cute stuff there... like this owl Christmas ornament. Also check out the cool candle holder that you can hang an ornament inside.
Aaron got me the owl plus this cupcake ornament at Pier One. This cupcake one looks good enough to eat!

I just had to go and take a peek at the Martha Stewart Xmas ornaments at Kmart. I liked this one the best, a teeny little sewing basket. It would be great to do a tree of just craft ornaments.

It was time to take the Christmas decorations out of the window boxes, but they looked so empty afterwards.
So Aaron and I made mini snowmen for each window box.
They have little stick arms and clove faces.
I think they make the window boxes look soc cute.
Perfect for winter!
These look like Aaron and I.
The one on the right is my favorite.
We even put two in the upstairs window box. See Stewie inside glaring at them?

Aaron won these candlesticks at his office holiday lunch. I was going to put them away for the season, but he pointed out they would work for Valentine's Day too.
He was right. Especially with pink candles. (which are harder to find than you would think) I love pink and red together!

My friend Debbie got me these Hello Kitty Christmas tree ornaments.
I love this one with the pink baby seal!
I got thse single letter ornaments and connected them to spell out Aaron's name.
And another set to spell out my name.

It's January now, but I still have a lot of Christmassy stuff to share. When I was in Germany, I bought quite a few Christmas items.
I got two of these smokers. You place a cone of incense inside and the smoke comes out their mouths.
These seem more Russian than German, but I couldn't resist this Christmas set of stacking dolls.
My favorite item of German craftsmanship is the Christmas pyramid. I already had a few.
But I brought home this pyramid. I can't find candles that quite fit this one.
I also got this teeny tiny one. It doesn't take candles.

These are my new favorite Christmas tree decorations. CUPCAKES! They are so cool, they don't hang, they have clips on the bottom so they sit on the tree branches. Disgustingly cute! Blech!
Oh and they are from Martha! The Kmart collection.

I am making good use of my plastic deer collection.
For my holiday mantle I first spread out some cotton "snow" then I added mini trees and then some of my deer.
I don't know where I will put all my other decorations now, but this looks so cute!

My swift trot into Starbucks to get my hands on a peppermint hot chocolate came to a grinding halt when I spotted the theme to their holiday decorations. Yarn! Yarn ornaments, yarn wreaths.... YARN! Where have I seen something like that ? Well anyhow... the yarn wreath is really cute!
