Oscar and Stewie are on Snuzzy today! Snuzzy is a dogster and catster site where "cute and fuzzy collide". There is plenty of ridiculous cuteness on the the website.
We went for a four mile hike around Taughannock Falls and Oscar was leading the way. There were some muddy parts and his under carriage got pretty dirty.
He was also pretty pooped by the time we got back to the campsite.
It was raining the past two times I was in NYC. I was pleased to see how popular Wellies were. I saw lots of girls wearing them. I hate getting my feet wet, so I have been a fan of rain boots for a long time.
Aaron got me these cupcake rain boots for Christmas. Look how jealous Oscar is.
I think Oscar is getting tired of the winter weather. He looks a little ho hum.
Hopefully it will be spring soon and we can take him camping.
I was wandering around a Tuesday Morning while Aaron was in his guitar lessons and they had dog camping tents!
So I went to Coleman's website and found all kinds of pet camping gear. I like what they had to say...
"Pets are a part of the family so there’s no reason they should be left behind when everyone goes camping. Coleman’s unique family of pet products makes it easy for you to take your pet along. All Coleman® pet products are designed with pets in mind and made of durable, long-lasting materials. Forget the dog sitter this camping season; take your faithful friend with you!"
They had dog tents and CAT tents. I am trying to visualize taking a cat camping.
The Mountaineer Cat Tent has:
• Adjustable side panels for ventilation and airflow
• Waterproof floor provides moisture barrier between your pet and the ground
• Weather-resistant fabric specially designed and treated to repel water
• Strong frame engineered to withstand windy conditions
That's good because Stewie would not be happy if he got wet or if he blew away.
Look how cute the Hibernation Sleeping Bag for Dogs is!
And the Bone Lounger would be a big hit too.
Let's be honest though. We could get Oscar the tent, the lounger and the sleeping bag, but when we take Oscar camping, we all know where he is going to be sleeping. In OUR tent, on top of MY pillow with my head squozen over to a tiny corner. As usual.
We had a blast at the George Eastman House OSCARS party.
Oscar had a special t-shirt to wear for the occasion.
He came toe to toe with another Oscar.
Everyone had to stop and pet him. I mean everyone.
The band played "Who let the dogs out?" and he went out onto the dance floor. Everyone was taking pictures of Oscar and a lot of people wanted their picture taken with him.
He is going to be really difficult to live with now.
Oscar was featured in several ads for the party posing as Heel Oscar Heel, Sit Oscar Sit and Walk Oscar Walk. You can see all the pictures over on 1000 Words. He even has his own MySpace page, www.myspace.com/apugcalledoscar! I am sure he would like to be your MySpace friend!
As you can see, Aaron and I took a backseat in this campaign... we were just there to work with "The Talent".
(these pictures and the ones on 1000 Words were taken by Denise Batiste)
Oscar is going to be attending the party too... walking the red carpet!
Another
year has passed and so I have added another year to our New Years
Day tradition. I took a picture of each of us in front of my
grandma's fridge after lunch.
Apparently,
Oscar and Stewie did not get the memo regarding wearing their glasses
this year.
We braved the cold today and went to the tree farm to cut down
our Christmas Tree.
Oscar was a big help.
Afterwards we had stuffed shells and my signature holiday
dessert, peppermint brownie sundaes. We also visited my neighborhood
Christmas light spectacular. One house... a gazillion lights and
ornaments. Check out the pictures on My
Gallery.
When we were home for Thanksgiving I got to meet my grandma's new
puggle puppy, Maggie. Half pug, half beagle. I enjoyed picking out her
pug-features... eyes, back feet, tail trying to curl over. Her beagle
characteristics were obvious as she tore around the house and bounced
off the walls. She is a little Hyper
Hypo.
Does this look weird to you? A few weeks ago I came home from work to find
this scene in my living room, all three of them perched on the couch... Oscar and
Stewie staring straight ahead... Aaron seemingly oblivious. It just
seems odd. I am convinced that I have a strange cat, a strange dog...
and most likely though not apparent in this photo, a strange husband.
I have two Halloween inkjet projects over at 1000
Words today. The first are Oscar and Stewie masks. Everyone
in the office agrees they are eerie looking.
If you aren't sure what to be for Halloween you could go as a pug or a
kitty.
There are also downloadable templates for Halloween Oscar and Stewie
lollipop covers. Kinda like my lollipop
cozies but faster and easier to put together.
Oscar and Stewie are demanding compensation for the use of their
likeness. Greedy little critters.
To download the pdf templates and see instructions on how to
make the masks and lollipop covers check out 1000
Words.
It is high time I wrote about our completed kitchen tile project. We actually finished it a couple months ago, but my kitchen hasn't been tidy enough to take "finished" pictures. Hah!
I was so sick of our old lineoleum floor... it had little nicks and cuts and I just couldn't get the spot where Oscar comes in from the backyard clean. We picked these brown tiles and chose a dove grey grout to match. It really wasn't too much work to lay down the tile. We did it in a weekend. We bought a tile cutter for less than $100 and it was so worth it. Aaron did the cutting and laying while I pretty much handed him tiles and kept the four legged critters out of the kitchen. You can see more pictures of the process on my Project Gallery.
Oscar and Stewie approve of the new tile floor.
While we had everything pulled out of the kitchen we painted it a nice butter yellow. I like how it looks next to our Tiffany blue foyer. Mmmm butter.
The George
Eastman House is going to have an Ansel
Adams exhibit this month. To kick it off they had a black and
white party where attendees were encourage to wear black and white and
bring their black and white pets.
Oscar is more tan-ish so we stuffed him in a black t-shirt and
took him. He had a good time sniffing all the black and white critters.
Yesterday... Tina, Shruti and I volunteered for the United
Way Day of Caring. We spent the day weeding and painting at
the St. Johns Home.
It was nice to be outside and I think the garden area will be really
nice for the elders.
Being there made me think I should take Oscar and Stewie in as
therapy pets.
They would have to go through training but I think they would brighten
some elder's days.
I finally changed my banner over to a spring version. Maybe
the weather will follow. In that case just two last winter pictures I
found on my camera. Pets in snow.
Before anyone calls the SPCA... Stewie WANTED to go outside in
the snow. He cried and scratched at the door so much we finally said
fine! We thought after this episode he would want no more of that.
Huh-uh... he wanted to go right back out into the snow.
I finally uploaded my Through the Viewfinder pictures for the World Through the Viewfinder Day group on flickr. I used my two favorite subjects for my pictures. They are so good at sitting laying still for the camera.
I missed the cutoff for judging but that is okay because I am actually a judge myself! There are so many great shots... it's gonna be hard.
Something weird is going on at our house. The pictures illustrate the recent events. Oscar is sleeping in Stewie's bed and Stewie is eating Oscar's food. Even stranger... the other just stands by... "Oh fine, I'll bunk in your bed then." "Having a snack? That's okay... I'll just wait til you're done."
It's like Freaky Friday but with pets instead of Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster.
Could this pup look any more pathetic? Really Oscar doesn't have anything to be sad about. He is one lucky dog.
Not all dogs are as lucky so I was excited to hear about this new website pugswithoutborder.typepad.com. Every month, Barkley and Augie will be making a donation to a different canine charity. "They'll be posting on the search for philanthropic endeavors, their favorite organizations, and of course, a bit of their own pampered lifestyle."
I think this is a great idea... there are so many dogs out there that need good homes... like the pug who was in the January 3 Picture of the Day. (you have to select January 3, 2007 in the pulldowns... it's worth it trust me)
I love, love, love this Picture of the Day... especially the kitten sitting in the middle with the disgusted look on his face. It looks like he is thinking "Who are these jokers?"
