We got some snow today. The snow gauge says we are up to 15 inches now.
Oscar likes running around but it's so deep now, he is limited to areas that are shoveled or plowed.
Tina who is in Florida on vacay asked for some photos so I took some of the house.
I like the side view... I even made a video.

It was time to take the Christmas decorations out of the window boxes, but they looked so empty afterwards.
So Aaron and I made mini snowmen for each window box.
They have little stick arms and clove faces.
I think they make the window boxes look soc cute.
Perfect for winter!
These look like Aaron and I.
The one on the right is my favorite.
We even put two in the upstairs window box. See Stewie inside glaring at them?

I got this table runner and two dishes at Target during the Xmas clearance, but I think they are perfect for winter too. I love the tree design!

Late one night Aaron discovered the snow was perfect for snowman making so we made one for our front yard.
I think he turned out really nice.
All the wind has taken a toll on him though and he is starting to lean to one side. Looks like he is dancing... Woot Woot!

We got quite a bit of snow today. Seems like the most we have had for a couple winters now.
The Smart Car surprised me and chugs right on through the snow and slush.
We got half a snow day today which was a treat. It's starting to look like Christmas at our house!

We
are having a snow day today. We stocked up on yummy treats and firewood
and snuggled in.
Oscar
and Stewie are forced to bunk together to stay warm.
When that isn't good enough
they resort to sitting on heat vents.
Or they put on their
Christmas t-shirt and sweater.
Heh, heh,
heh, heh.

Other than making crepes, Aaron and I spent most of the weekend outside. We just discovered that Ellison Park turned one of their parking lots into an ice rink, so we threw all our gear into the back of the truck and went to the park for ice skating. After that we did some snowshoeing. I uploaded pictures of us out in the cold to my Gallery .
We snowshoed over to the sledding hills and watched sledders barrelling down over the hills. We are now also in the market for a sled. Any sled recommendations?

We had our first snow storm last night. When I came outside this morning everything was bright, white and clean. Soon the roads will get slushy and dirty, so I took some pictures of our street right away.
(Click on the image above to see a larger version.) I never get tired of the panoramic stitching feature on my camera... some of the houses look crooked and wonky but I like them that way. Below is one third of a panoramic... you can see the yellow house fell on a seam.
I was a lucky girl because Aaron drove me to work today. You can see him in the first picture brushing snow off his truck.
I learned that when it is 5º you don't want to leave your mittens off too long while shooting pictures of your snow covered street.

This is the view of our office parking lot today. Looks quiet doesn't it?
The thing I like about winter... not just the snowboarding, ice skating and making fires in the fireplace... is how it can make you slow down. Or at least it tries.
I didn't make any big resolutions this New Years. But I would like to make an effort to slow down a little. I want more time to read books, watch films, sip tea, answer emails, write letters, organize my cupboards, work on crafty things and cook slow food .
