garden 2004

The first thing you have to do before you plant your veggie garden, is plan where everything goes.

This is a page of my sketch/notebook showing what I plan to plant and where.

The seeds... lettuce, carrots, radishes, green onions, dill, cauliflower and broccoli.

The plants... beefsteak tomatoes, plum tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, basil, cucumbers and eggplants.

Here is the garden tilled and ready for planting.

And here is it planted. It's a little hard to see but they are in there. String marks my rows of seeds. I never planted dill, cauliflower or broccoli before. We'll see how that goes.

It's now mid-summer and things are coming along nicely. Here we have the lettuce and basil.

Tomatoes and carrots look good. The radishes are ready to pull.

The eggplants look good... the cauliflower and broccoli... not so good.

Here is the whole garden.

A few weeks later... so much rain, the cucumbers and dill are growing like mad.
