foyer

Foyer... vestibule... whatever... it's the little room you enter when you first come in my front door. Then there is a french door into the living room.

This is what it looked like when I moved in. Plain 'ol white.

Tah-dah! Deep red. I wanted something very dramatic for this entryway. Sort of a precursor to the rest of the house. Red is a very hard color to paint a wall. It took many, many coats to get the rich, deep shade.

The theme for the foyer (always a theme) is cats in French Steinlen posters. There is a large Chat Noir poster on one wall and three other smaller prints on the opposite wall. I love the way the prints look on the red, and I wish I spent more time in the foyer.
