dining room and living room

When I bought my house every wall was painted white. This was my big chance. I wanted dramatic colors in my house. I started off with a blue and with each room I was ready for something brighter or deeper.

I had a week between closing and moving in, so each night Aaron and I went to the house to paint.

First we painted the funny little room off the dining room a periwinkle blue. Pretty tame. The dining room was painted in my favorite color celery green. I thought the green was a bright color that would keep the room lively. I was interested in how the colors would look standing in one room looking into the next. I liked the way a dark brown living room looked next to the green.

I also wanted a color in there that would make the room cozy and also match a lot of mismatched furniture.

I was happy with both choices.
