Back in the fall I had gotten a fireplace popcorn popper in eager anticipation of popping corn over a roaring fire on cold wintery nights.

Apparently the fire was a little too roaring, because the corn started popping immediately and directly proceeded to smoking, closely followed by flames leaping from the air vents of the popper.

Undaunted, I am insisting we try again, one more time, before we throw in the towel. I can almost taste the buttery goodness.
