Since Tina came to get the house ready for the baby shower she gets a homemade chicken pot pie.

I had to make them season-appropriate with fall leaves!
Today is National Ice Cream Day and what better way than to celebrate with milkshakes and my bestie?
Tina found out about a milkshake event at a local distillery, Honeoye Falls Distillery.
Yeah the milkshakes were boozy but I was able to get mine without the alcohol. They had some nice brunch items to go with.
I got the breakfast tacos and then ate a good portion of Tina's delicous chicken and waffles.
The highlight was really the milkshakes though. There is a slice of pecan pie on top of mine!!!
Look how happy Tina is!
Afterwards we took a tour of the distillery and I was really impressed with their story.
Made with local grain!
Impressive equipment.
Sometimes you have to wait for something good. What a great way to spend a day all about ice cream!
We got a new Mexican restaurant, Qdoba, in our area. It's a chain but I still wanted to try it out.
You really can't go wrong with tacos can you?
I like that there were different styles of tacos to choose from so I didn't have to choose my own ingredient by ingredient. I don't know that it is drastically different than any other Mexican chain we currently have but not bad.
Our neighbors got us tickets to a Red Wing's baseball game for the Fourth of July.
What is more American than baseball?
The baseball watching is fun but really isn't it all about the food?
My mom noticed right away that one of the Red Wing players is Korean. He was suddenly her favorite. He did do pretty well actually.
The coolest thing was after the game was over there were fireworks. We could see not only the stadium fireworks but the ones the City put off too.

In case you think all I ate today was bad food, here are the sausage and veggie kebabs Aaron cooked on the grill.
And I made a giant veggie dipping selection. Healthy choices on Independence Day!
When I realized that I still had almost a dozen jars of strawberry jam in the freezer, I had to come up with other uses for the two boxes of strawberries we picked. Well.... it wasn't that hard really.
After pureeing strawberries with a bit of simple syrup in the Vitamix it was easy enough to make popsicles. A nice treat for these hot summer days.
You HAVE to have strawberry shortcake.
I like milk and whipped cream on mine.
And a new use for strawberries for me... frozen strawberry drink. All I did was blend strawberries, ice and simple syrup in the Vitamix and viola! A refreshing, delicious beverage.
We were having them everynight until I ran out of strawberries. No problem using up berries at our house.
I am not gluten intolerant but I have in the past tried eating gluten free or reduced gluten at least. Here are some of the items I have found that are gluten free and liked. Cheerios makes several of their cereals now gluten free, including my favorite Strawberry.
I have tried corn and rice pasta and I like the rice pasta much better. The corn pasta is very... corn-like. The water you boil it in is even yellow after. The rice pasta seems milder. This mac and cheese is pretty good. Takes forever to bake in the oven though.
These gluten free brownies taste the same as regular brownies. I was going to test them on Aaron but he saw the box before I got a chance. He ate them though and didn't mind them.
I think these frozen waffles taste exactly like regular frozen waffles.
This is THE BEST gluten free pizza I've tried. I add more cheese and pepperoni and it rivals regular frozen pizza. The super crispy crust is the key I believe.
I've eaten these crackers for ages without realizing it. They are so tasty and I love them with goat cheese.
It's still a wee bit chilly but that isn't stopping us from grilling.
I put these shish kebabs together and Aaron grilled them to perfection. I used kielbasa, shallots, mushrooms, squash, eggplant and bell peppers... sprinkled with Wegmans basting oils and steak seasoning.
So good! Note to self! Make this again!
I stopped at duty free as I was crossing from Canada back into the US and perused the snack choices. They have such different potato chips in the Canada. How can they be hours away but be so different. Ketchup Doritos!
I'm not sure what "All Dressed" means. I see oil, onion and pepper on the bag.
I love popcorn so I snatched up a bag of this creamy dill Smart Food pop corn. I love dill but it turned out to be too pickley. It's going into work for my coworkers to devour.
Tonight we went to our first Food Truck Rodeo of the season. I was surprised to see a few new trucks popped up over the winter. Like this Korean Seoul Food BBQ.
I don't think I can properly express how excited I am that there is now a Korean food truck. We ordered up bibimbap right quick.
Luckily Aaron is a Korean food fan too! Splitty sharey!

Mondays. When Aaron suggested a date night last night I was all in. We just discovered a new-to-us Chinese restaurant to try.
There are a few things that signal a classic Chinese restaurant to me. Little handless cups for tea. Bowls of crunchie noodles. And the classic Chinese zodiac placemat.
These paired with some tasty food made a great date night.
I have been on a french bread pizza kick lately. It's a fun, fast way to satisfy a pizza craving.
I found the key to great french bread pizza is to butter and toast the bread before you add the toppings. I added a little crushed garlic to the butter too. It makes the pizza extra crispy after you bake it with the sauce, cheese and toppings.
I wanted to make something that Aaron and I could have for breakfast quickly each morning, so I decided to make a quiche. Can you believe I've never made one before? It was so easy to make and it turned out delicious! All we had to do was cut a slice each morning and heat it up in the microwave.
A lot of people asked what recipe I used and it's the quiche lorraine recipe out of my tried and true classic Betty Crocker cook book.
The hardest part of the recipe was waiting 10 minutes before digging in! (weird mini hands courtesty of Aaron)
