I have always wanted to do a cookie exchange. I managed to look calm and collected when Lisa suggested we do one with our Sit & Knit group. It's just a brilliant concept. Make a batch of cookies, come home with all SORTS of cookies.

Aaron helped me make a batch of whoopie pies and I came back from Sit & Knit tonight with enough cookies to fill Poppin' Fresh. I don't think my fellow Sit & Knitters know just how excited I was over the cookies. Cookie glee.

  1. I just posted about my cookie exchange today too - what a coincidence! Next year I plan to have one at my house.

Just a question, how many cookies did you make, and how many of the others did you take?

  2. What is your recipe for your "whoopie pie" cookies? I remember you posted it a long time ago, but I would love to make them. They look like moon pies!! Yum!!!

  9. Hard margarine (the stick kind, not the tub kind) is a good substitute for shortening. Butter tends to add too much liquid to the recipe when it's used instead of shortening.
