Aaron and I were looking for something to take to a party when I spied this Sofia carbonated white wine. Despite the fact alcohol makes me sick, I was totally sucked in by the packaging. Each box comes with four little cans with red staws attached to the side.

The drink is fashioned after Sofia Coppola. Her dad owns a winery and I love that she got her own drink. The website is fun... pictures and movies of Sofia sipping her signature beverage, music to play and a secret message emaily thingy.

  3. Aaaaa! Where did you find it, if I may ask? I've been hoping to run across 'Sophia' here in Rochester! I'm a sucker for packaging, too. That, and champagne-in-a-can is just too much fun to ignore. There's a bar in NYC that serves up mini-bottles with straws, and this is just one step better...

  4. Melissa- sorry... I thought I wrote a comment/answer to your question yesterday... but it didn't post! I got the Sofia at a wine shop at Schoen Place in Pittsford.

  5. Did you try it? Was it tasty?

I ask because I saw this on Mighty Goods, and they too raved about the packaging, but then when I went looking for it, the guy at my local wine store said "We tried it, but it tasted terrible, so we decided not to carry it. We'll order it for you, if you want to try something terrible..."

I'd love to know what you thought of it!

  6. bj- hmmm now that is hard to say. Because of this whole alcohol intolerance thing... most drinks don't taste good to me. Sort of like how artificial sweeteners taste bitter to some and sweet to others. It was fizzy... and Tina said it was good. The shop we were in also let you buy it by the single can. That might be the way to go.

  7. I wonder if they have tastings of it at the winery itself. Niebaum-Coppola is one of the neatest wineries in Napa valley. They have a movie museum upstairs with the desk from the Godfather. Most of their wine is pretty good, and there is one in particular that I buy to pass out to my friends, though right now I can't remember the name.

I will have to stop by on my way through Napa and see what they have! Thanks ljc!
