Aaron and I were wandering around one of Rochester's off beat treasures, Dan's Crafts and Things when I spied this set of unfinished nesting dolls.

Nesting dolls are yet another item I would like to collect. I have a standard Russion set, a set of palace guards from London, and an Arabic set Aaron brought home from Bahrain.

I am really excited about the unfinished set. I plan on painting them as Aaron, myself, Oscar, Ernie and Torty. They might not be as cool as these nesting dolls created by artists... but we will see.

  1. Oh how fun! Good luck. I collect Nesting Dolls also. I love them. I have a Russian themed set, a mounty set, a Care Bears set and a disney set so far.

  3. These nesting dolls, or Matryoshka dolls (as my family calls them) are wonderful. We have many from friends and family in Ukraine. The littlest "baby" is as small as my pinky finger nail! I also have the plain set, and haven't figured out what to paint on them yet. I think my parents have a set with world leaders on them...like Reagan and Gorbachev.

  4. That is so cute! I never knew they make blank ones so that you can paint your own. Now I want a set!

And the great thing about these is that they nest inside eachother, so it doesn't take up a lot of space.

You always find the greatest things! :-)
