My friend Debbie got a new bread machine, so she gave Aaron and I her old one. We have never had a bread machine and we were like kids in a candy store. We loaded it up this evening and could be found peering in the little window with a flashlight every ten minutes... "It's getting pounded!"... "It's rising!"... "Oooo crusty!"

The bread was delicious and we are now addicted to hot freshly baked bread.

  1. I was like that with mine. It reminded me when my mom would make fresh bread from the oven when I was a kid.

  4. We got ours real cheap too... at good will! :) We've made some great bread in it ... including raisin bread and cheddar jalepeno bread. Both are excellent.

My mom has a bread maker and I did the same thing when we first got it. It amazed me that a machine could produce such a yummy thing. Good Day.

  11. I would love to know what recipe you used. I have experimented with lots of recipes, and only recently have had some success. Your bread looks better then mine did. Can you share your recipe?? I assume you baked that in the oven, and not the bread machine? And how long did you let it rise? I would love any tips! Grazie! Sara

  13. I bought a bread machine recently on eBay and I am making bread 2X a week. I have been using King Arthur bread flour and found their website to have terrific recipes. There are also great recipes on Fleishmann's Yeast website.
