This weekend Aaron and I went to Ottawa for the Winterlude Festival with our friends, Brian and Nancy. We were hoping for good ice so we could go skating on the Rideau Canal... and with -30º weather that is what we got. I could say the cold was terrifying on our exposed faces as we skated against the wind... but instead I will say it was "refreshing".

We ate lots of good food, did a little shopping on Bank Street and skated 'til our legs ached. There's a photo album of the weekend on my Gallery page and my favorite shots in Flickr.

  2. Please tell me you ate a Beaver tail while on the canal? Killaloe Sunrise beaver tails are THE best! Seeing your pictures makes me miss Ottawa so much.

  3. Which hotel did you stay in? It looks really nice, and I'd love a romantic alternative to the MIL's living room on our next trip up.

I'm jealous it was cold for you. Our trip up a couple weeks ago for my first Winterlude un-impregnated found the canal unfrozen.
