Mini Airstream Campers

I always loved the design of the classic Airstream campers. I have to admit I didn't know they still made them or better yet, made these super cute little ones! This model is called Bambi! Hah! Too cute!

And look inside! I could live in there. Or at least travel across the country in it. Six foot four Aaron would not be too thrilled but I would stuff him in anyway.

  1. I love how the retro design campers are coming back in style. Those airstream campers certainly have a posh interior! I've spotted a few "retro" campers (though we still use a tent) - not sure if they were restored or new. One we saw was even PINK!

  3. I am in love with the Airstreams too ... I blogged about the Bambi a while back in fact, hehe. But I was gonna tell ya, I got a book at the library claled Airstream Living that was really cool! Shows loads of ppl who have airstreams and what they've done with them. This one lady made over an old airstream as like a craft shed ... how cool would that be??? Now I just need an acre of land and $20K for the project and we're set. ;)

  4. You DO know, of course that the Airstream was created/ invented by Wally BYAM- a character and a huge proponent of getting out on the road and into nature... And yes, somehow distantly related to FH.

  5. My grandfather gave my dad his restored Airstream a few years ago... but we never used it, so he sold it on eBay. Now I wish we had it again (it was like the early 70's vomited all over it).

  12. I love Airstreams, too. While I would love to own one, I would also be satisfied with a nice vacation to The Shady Dell in Bisbee, AZ. http://www.theshadydell.com/index.html

  21. I lived in a 28-foot airstream in the North Carolina mountains for 3 years - it was nothing like the Bambi, though! We stripped out most of the inside to put in a full bed and an office. Nothing fancy, but it worked for us for a while.

  22. They actually are quite comfortable. We stayed in one last year at theStarlux in Wildwood, NJ. Definitely one funky experience :)

Check out a photo of the "Airstream Complex" complete with astroturf and Wildwood's famous plastic palm trees.

  23. They did make a VW that was to be pulled by a Bug it is called "eriba puck" an there are still a few around if you go to www.thesamba.com you can search them and find a few for sale..they also made in the early 70;s a model called the love bug that I have found and I am trying to buy from this guy. He is still being stubborn. 13foot long and perfect for me and the wife I have 5 Vdubs and I would pull it with my bus.

  26. I've always wanted to buy RV van especially after having kids because of the convenience it could give us especially for long trips and camp out. This seems nice and like comfy enough.

  30. I've been searching for a small trailer for my wife and I. I love the 16' Bambi but they run about $55k (CDN) for starters. They do hold their value but it's nearly impossible to find a used one anyhow. We're having a look at the T@B now. They're about half the price but very nicely finished. Worth a look.
