We had our first snow storm last night. When I came outside this morning everything was bright, white and clean. Soon the roads will get slushy and dirty, so I took some pictures of our street right away.

(Click on the image above to see a larger version.) I never get tired of the panoramic stitching feature on my camera... some of the houses look crooked and wonky but I like them that way. Below is one third of a panoramic... you can see the yellow house fell on a seam.

I was a lucky girl because Aaron drove me to work today. You can see him in the first picture brushing snow off his truck.

I learned that when it is 5º you don't want to leave your mittens off too long while shooting pictures of your snow covered street.

  2. I have been reading your blog for 2 years and now some good friends of ours are moving from Dallas to Rochester. You must post a "Best Of" for Rochester. I have already been telling her about Wegman's!

  3. My daughter just moved to Rochester and that snow is a big shock to her system, since we've lived in L.A. for the last 11 years.
Thanks for the photos. Looks like the same nabe she lives in.

  4. Oh what I wouldn't give for some snow right about now. In my part of the world (Western Australia) it's currently 40 degrees celsius at 5.30 in the afternoon. It's going to be another long, hot, night! I'll have to look at your pictures to keep myself cool!

  7. Yeah, the coffee colored house in the top one reminds me of a cartoon house, kinda like "Monster House" or something where the top is bigger than the bottom. Kinda cute! :)

  8. Hi, Jenny -
Your street looks so cool. Love the houses. I was wondering what the housing market is like up in Rochester?

  9. sarah b - that is a good idea... I will put that on my to do list

lupita - I think the housing market is decent, but I am no expert. I know our house was extremely affordable and it has gone up in value since I bought it.
