I was really torn today. Today is both National Pie Day and National Soup Swap Day. Being on my pie kick, that is what I went with. I made four mini cherry pies and took two to work to share.

Here are some of my pie plates. I love ones that have the recipe on the bottom. My mom told me she just found me a pecan one too!

I think I am still going to do another soup swap this winter... it just won't be on the "official" day.

  1. I keep waiting to hear about the fate of the dear green bug. Will your car make it or is there a new vehicle in your future?

  4. You have the cutest collections. Every time you post about another one my imagined version of your house grows. Does your husband collect cool stuff too?

  5. I'm with you on the pecan pie. We southern girls love our pecan pie. I like pumpkin now and again, too... only with mounds of whip cream. However... I am NOT a cherry/apple pie girl. I don't like fruit pies at all. :( Drives my husband crazy because he likes them. I just can't see wasting time making something I won't eat. :)

I love your pie plates, though! Very hip! I am in to old dishes. I have that bold primary colors depression glass mixing bowls set.

  6. Super cute pie plates! I don't think I've ever seen ones like those with recipes on the bottom. I'll have to remember to look for some like that when I am out and about.

  7. We have the pumpkin plate, or did anyway. I don't know where it is now. My mom makes the best pumpkin and apple pie ever. Just seeing that plate makes me want some. Soup sounds good too.

  8. oohh, I wish I lived near you for the soup swap. We'd definitely make you what we lovingly call "Crack Soup" (because of it's addictive qualities)... got the recipe off recipezaar. SO simple.
