Jars

Much like this blogger, I have a growing love of jars. I had been saving olive jars and so forth and then I discovered that Christmas Tree Shoppe carries lots of ye olde fashioned jars with lids that clamp down. I have been moving bagged items like popcorn and craisins into jars.

I also like putting craft items into jars. And Stewie's backup ping pong balls.

And look AT THESE! Ahhh so cute! I love the labels.

I am wondering how I could do this to all my jars.

I don't think they are etched... letter decals maybe?

  1. I've been a long time reader of your blog, but I have never commented before. To get the writing on the jars, you can use a Cricut machine and cut it out of vinyl. Most craft stores have the vinyl for sale in small rolls. I have got it off ebay too, for cheap. Hope this helps.

  2. I love jars too and would love to reuse them but I always have the problem of the jars being smelly. What do you use to get the smell out before you refill it? Last thing I want is to put my nuts or raisins in a jar that smells like pickles. :-)

  3. Katie - why thank you!

Jen A - I've never noticed a lingering pickle smell, but I would try lemon.

  6. Do you get the Parade magazine in the Sunday paper? There was an interior shot of this house http://bit.ly/cN6UxK that had a jar shelf that I envy!

  7. No, I didn't see the paper. Wish the site had more pics.

  9. Elaine - he goes through them like crazy! And I don't know where they go. I thought I would find a ton of them when we moved out of the old house - but nope... just 2 or 3!

  10. I AM jar-obsesed!! I'm so glad I have a partner in my obsession. They're so cute and useful! I just got the plastic lids so I don't have to fiddle with the 2-part rings if I'm not canning. Love your jars.
