World Cat Day & Pet of the Week

Today, August 8, is World Cat Day! In addition, all Rochester Animal Services cat adoptions are only $5 for the month of August! Stop by 184 Verona Street and meet some of the lovely kitties looking for good homes. We so appreciate the families that take in cats while they are waiting for homes but we need to find them forever homes too!

National Cat Day

Today is National Cat Day! This picture cracks me up.

"National Cat Day was founded in 2005 by Pet Lifestyle Expert & Animal Welfare Advocate Colleen Paige to help galvanize the public to recognize the number of cats that need to be rescued each year and also to encourage cat lovers to celebrate the cat(s) in their life for the unconditional love and companionship they bestow upon us."

Free Foster Kitties!

Tomorrow Rochester Animal Services is offering free adoptions for cats that are in foster care to make room for other cats. So from noon to 7pm you can stop by and meet kitties, like Braveheart and Ringo that are eager to go home with you!

You can see the cats that are available for a waived fee on their website.

Kuzco is a 5 year old beautiful boy with a playful spirit and lots of affection! He was brought to Lollypop Farm because his owner became allergic to him. He would love to fine a forever home and give you lots of love! Please come visit Kuzco and all of our adult cats on March 31st at all our locations. We are holding an April Fools' Adopt-a-Thon that day and all cats over 1 year of age will be availbe for adoption for a reduced fee of $1.

Top Dog and Feline Frenzy

Meet Brandy, she’s a TOP DOG! October is Adopt-a-Dog Month and our featured "Top Dogs" can be adopted for just $75! Brandy was a stray found in Irondequoit. She is a 4-year-old Pit Bull mix who is just a sweet, shy girl. She is a little timid at first, but after a few treats and some soft talking, she decided going outside might be alright. She is a bit unsure of herself at first, but that subsides quite rapidly, and she turns into a fun loving wiggle butt who loves racing around and chasing balls. Brandy weighs in at 44 pounds, and is a strong dog who could use some work on her leash walking skills. Since we don’t know anything about her previous life, she must meet all the kids and dogs that share your home. It’s important for everyone to get along and be happy! Brandy can’t wait to meet you!

Lollypop Farm is having another cat adopt-a-thon this Thursday: Feline Frenzy Adopt-a-thon Thursday, October 20, 2011

During Feline Frenzy on Thursday, October 20, all cats and kittens will be completely free of charge at all four of adoption centers during regular hours. Despite the success of this year’s cat adopt-a-thons, theyare about 300 adoptions below where we were at this point last year, and they currently have about 500 cats in their care. The cats and kittens at the shelter are in urgent need of new homes. Please come to one of their four adoption locations to meet the wonderful cats and kittens available, or, if you can't add a cat to your family right now, please help us spread the word by telling your friends and family about this amazing deal on cat adoption!

As always, each cat or kitten adoption includes:
Spaying and neutering
Feline leukemia testing
Vaccinations and deworming
A certificate for a free health exam
A 30-day gift of pet health insurance
Microchipping Advantage flea-control treatment
Free behavior advice

Cat-to-School Special Adopt-a-thon

Where do you put 500 cats? You can't stack them! There are 500 cats at Lollypop farm and they need to go home with someone. Because you can't stack cats, Rochester!

During Lollypop Farm's Cat-to-School Special on Friday, September 16, and Saturday, September 17, all cats who are one year and older will be completely free of charge at all four of our adoption centers during regular hours. Cats younger than one year will be available to adopt for just $99.

They currently have almost 500 homeless cats and kittens in our care, so new homes are urgently needed. This is the perfect time to add a feline friend to your household.

Pet of the Week AND Feline Frenzy!

Hobie is a handsome 10-year-old male Lab mix. Hobie is at Lollypop Farm because his owners were no longer able to care for him. He is a mellow boy who enjoys attention. He even likes to be brushed and combed! If you want to be fast friends with Hobie you need only to offer him a treat! He walks well on a leash and likes to play with toys. A home with children over the age of six is recommended due to a lack of history living with children and his age. Hobie is eligible for our Seniors-for-Seniors program, so adopters age 60 and older can take him home free of charge! Come out to Lollypop Farm to meet this gentle soul who is looking for a loving home where he can spend his retirement years!

They both forgot their pants!

We finally found a "I forgot my pants" t-shirt for Oscar too. And it was only $2!

They look ridiculous together. Neither of them can remember their pants.

Lolllypop Farm Cat

Lollypop Farm contacted me to see if I was interested in posting their adoptable pets once a week. I said sure! And here is the first of them.

Just in time for Halloween... here is Ghost! Look at those tufty ears! She also has that signature cat smirk. Boo-meow!

Ghost

Ghost is a 1-year-old female cat who was brought to Lollypop Farm because her owner could no longer care for her. Despite her name, Ghost is not scary at all! In fact, she has lived with cats, dogs, and kids before -- and she got along with them well. This pretty and petite girl has been spayed and is all ready to go home with you!
