Three Heads Brewing

For months Aaron has been slowing down and peering at the large buidling being built on Atlantic and Anderson. He was eagerly awaiting the grand opening of Three Heads Brewing.

Well that day finally came. They opened this weekend and we met our friend Eric there to check it out. I'm pleased to say they have a large indoor space, a nice outdoor patio and bottles of root beer and cherry soda : )

They don't serve food but they do have food trucks outside! I got to try Neno's Mexican Food Truck - Facebook | Twitter. TACOS mmmmm. I've been noticing thinly sliced radishes on tacos and other Mexican dishes lately. I need to try that at home.

Bottoms up weekend

I don't drink much yet I found myself out at local spots twice this weekend.

The first was The Lost Borough Brewing Co. I hand fashioned a gift certificate for Aaron for his birthday and he just now got around to cashing it in. It's a small spot but with lots to offer. He enjoyed a beer flight and fixed his sights on joining their mug brew crew. My favorite part was the electronic dart game they have. Cricket anyone?

They do their brewing on site and you can peek at their production through a window in the back. Notice the R2-D2 container?

You can follow Lost Borough on Facebook | Twitter | Instagram

We also checked out the new Muller's Cider House on University Ave. If I had my choice I would go with cider so it was fun to see what they had to offer. It's also a small spot, but nicely dark and cozy. They don't make their own cider but they have a wide variety to choose from and you can get a flight of what is on tap.

They also have a small menu of cheese plates, panini and my favorite - kettle korn!

Flour City Brewfest (with food trucks!)

Months ago, Aaron bought tickets to the Flour City Brewfest. Time goes fast and the event was already upon us last night. Aaron's first stop was a tasting of Rohrbach's Space Kitty. I may have encouraged that selection.

I was the designated driver, and lucky for me, there were food trucks along with the 50 breweries and cideries, so what I enjoyed was Le Petite Poutine...

The Meat Ball Truck Co...

and Fuego coffee! That was just fine with me.

Beerfest

I am so glad Rochester has food trucks now, so when Aaron wants to go to a beer fest, I can look forward to eating at the food trucks!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day! Oscar and Hugo went with a beer theme for Aaron's gift. They got him a beer periodic table and beer flight glasses. They know him well.

We are home for the weekend. Hugo loves running around my parents property. Country dog.

Rochester Real Beer Expo

Weeks ago Aaron got us tickets to the Rochester Real Beer Expo.

Saturday night was the big event. He had been looking forward to it for weeks. Gregory Street was shut down and there were tents with brewers offering over 80 different kinds of beer! It was a beer lovers dream. You got a little tasting glass and off you went. The glass looks tiny in Aaron's hand but he was happy as a clam.

I was mostly excited about my pretzel necklace. Oh, and a chance to wear my special t-shirt.

Also it was nice to be outside on a nice evening and run into lots of friends.

AND the Le Petit Poutine truck was there! I have been trying to eat at this food truck for ages! For those of you that don't live right next to Canada, poutine is french fries topped with gravy and cheese curds.

Finally! We split a serving and it was delicous. Those Canadians are onto something!

Jam and Beer Label Makers

I found Jam Labelizer that let's you create jam jar labels. You can customized the words, color and choose different designs.

I am picturing some great jars of strawberry jam this summer. Actually you could probably use this for all sorts of things... applesauce, grape juice... etc.

There is also a Beer Labelizer. This is perfect because Aaron just started his beer kit I got him for Christmas.

Double Pug Ale!
