Today I went to Brown's Berry Patch with Tina & Lauren.
It was hot as blazes but we were determined.
Blueberries!
There is a lot there for kids too, although it would be more appealing in less sweltering conditions.
Goats seem to be hungry no matter what.
Greedy goats.
I used the berries we picked yesterday to make pocket pies... cherry, blueberry...
...black raspberry, red raspberry and some with all of them.
I used the Williams-Sonoma Lattice Pocket Pie Mold to make them.
It worked really well.

We needed dinner so I made some savoury ones too. These are swiss cheese, goat cheese and mushroom pocket pies.
They are so darn cute. And tasty! I see a lot more pocket pies in our future!
Today we went berry picking. I was planning on getting cherries but there were also raspberries and blueberries!
I never picked blueberries before. It takes awhile to fill a bowl but they are so good!
The black raspberry bushes scratched us all up but the red ones didn't have thorns. We picked til my fingers were stained blue and red.
What a berry haul!
