It's not OBX without the horses. I got plenty of pictures of them this year.
It seemed to me like there were more than usual.
And they enjoyed hanging out right near our beach chairs.

One of my favorite parts of OBX are the wild horses. I get a kick out of how they graze right next to our beach house.
You have to stay a safe distance from them, but we can stand on our walkway and watch them safely.
This year Aaron brought his drone to the beach. I was worried it would scare the horses but they didn't even give it a second look.
Here is a picture of the horses taken with the drone. I'll have some cool video from Aaron soon!
One of my favorite parts of the Outer Bansk is staying in the Corolla 4x4 area where there are wild horses.
They are mustang ponies descended from ones brought to the US by Spanish explorers over 500 years ago.
They like to stand around and stare at us sitting in our beach chairs.
The Corolla Wild Horse Fund helps protect and conserve the horses.
Face off! The horses like to come down to the water when it gets really hot to be cooled off by the breeze.
Here they are sneaking up on my dad.
They strolled right past us on their way down the beach. I think I need to see the movie "“Nights in Rodanthe”, because I read the OBX wild horses are in it!
Aaron's uncle has painted horses!
And two horse babies! So cute!
