Dog parking

With unsettling changes these days, I find it helpful to keep to a routine. The pugs are a big help with this. No matter how grim or sad things get, they still need fed and walked. And we have all been enjoying our daily trips to the dog park. New smells and curious pooches keep them occupied. Never underestimate the benefits of fresh air.

Happy Pugday

Happy 14th Birthday Oscar!

A batch of carrot pupcakes just for you. (Well, some for Hugo too but you can pretend they are just for you)

Quiet Spot

Since the boys now have a dog park tag added to their harnesses along with a dog license and rabies tag they were quite jingly jangly when they walked or ran.

I have heard that it can actually cause some damage to a dog's hearing - all that jingly jangling - so I ordered them each a Quiet Spot tag holder. It's made of nyroprene and velcroes around the tags to silence them. It also keeps them nice and tidy. I had noticed their tags getting pretty beat up and a previous year's park tag wore out at the hole and fell off. This protects the tags a bit too. Two paws up!

Pug nook

The wine cooler was pulled out of my sister's kitchen and it makes a perfect pug feeding nook.

Oscar and Hugo in Rochester Magazine

The pugs are famous again. They have a big spread in the July issue of Rochester Magazine!

Since you can never really get enough Oscar and Hugo, they even have an online gallery with more pictures! Enjoy this Pug Days of Summer gallery!

Hanging out

I was pretty happy when I saw these two hanging out together. Wyatt pouncing on Stewie and hanging on his neck to get him to wrestle is the closest they get.

Unlike Oscar and Stewie. They are buddies from way back and are expert snugglers.

Let your ears flap in the wind. #pug #pugsofinstagram #pugslife

And Hugo... he is just hanging out having a good time.

Pugoleon

Who can resist a t-shirt with a pug dressed as Napoleon on it? Not me apparently.

Spring walks

Now that it is warm out, the pugs like to take their jolly old time on potty walks. There is a lot of sniffing and rolling around in the grass.

Really anything other that what they are supposed to be doing out there. Even just standing and staring at nothing.

But they love to go out. They push and shove to queue up to get their harnesses on.

This was particularly funny. As the pugs were waiting to go outside, Wyatt strolled by and whacked Oscar in the face with his tail. Well as hard as you can whack someone with a cushy, soft, furry tail.

A little pet pet pet

Just a lil pet pet pet.

A video posted by Jenny Cisney (@ljc) on

You might have been wondering about the tiny hands that made the quiche in yesterday's post. They are little hands I got Aaron for Easter for a joke. I think they are hilarious. The pugs, not so much.

Pugs in PA

The pugs enjoyed their Easter break in PA. It's always so much warmer there.

And they get to hang with cousin Bronson.

"Too much wind! Too much!"

I just had to post this picture of Hugo. He likes to put his head out the window... but only if we are going under 20 miles per hour. Faster than that and the wind dries out his eye balls.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter from the crew. Oscar looks so natural in bunny ears.

They were way too big for the cats.

Hugo mostly worries he won't make a good Easter bunny.

Wyatt refused to sit up so he got his picture taken sitting down. Lazy rabbit.

Happy St. Patrick's Day from Oscar, Hugo, Stewie and Wyatt! They are not the least bit Irish but they love corned beef and look fantastic in green.

This is what happens when I'm left alone with the pugs for too long.

Warby Parker Home Try On

Have you ever tried Warby Parker? It's a cool eye glass service where you choose styles online and they send them to your home to try on. After you decide which you like best, you send the samples back and then send them your prescription for the pair you want.

Warby Parker encourages you to post pictures of yourself with the different styles and tagging them with #warbyhometryon so others can help you decide. When we sat down to take our pictures, the pugs decided they wanted to see how they looked in glasses.

Let's be honest. They look good in any style.

Well okay, they looked more amazing in some than others.

Abandon ship

Poor Oscar woke up with a skin infection around his ears. Hugo made it worse, while he probably thought he was helping, by licking them til they were extra sore.

So it was off to the vet to get pills, drops and a lovely inflatable neck pillow. Cones don't work well on pugs without a neck. They even shaved the fur below his ear.

He will be better soon, but in the meantime he looks like a passenger on a cruise ship. "Is this ship going down or what?!"
