My friend Danica has a wonderful old kitchen with original (about 1920's?) fixtures and many of her kitchen items match it. She has a salt pig next to her stove I absolutely love. There are certain recipes I no longer measure, but practice the "pinch here, pinch there" method. Nothing like grabbing salt with your forefinger and thumb and dashing it into your mixture.

Nigella uses a salt pig and when I saw her line of kitchenware at Wegmans, I had a fit over her egg shaped salt pig. I convinced Aaron to get me a blue one and put it away for my birthday. Errrr... in that case, maybe I shouldn't be writing about it now? Ooops. I promise to act surprised when I open it.
