I don't know much about Scotsdale. Usually, when I travel somewhere I have lots of spots to check out. I am not worried about this trip because I did a little research and found that Scotsdale is home to the five establishments guaranteed to make any visit a pleasant one. 1. In-n-Out Burger 2. Baja Fresh 3. Jamba Juice 4. Cheesecake Factory (oh hello Chicken Madiera... we meet again) and 5. Sephora You won't find that in any travel book!

  1. One more to add, Rubios. Rubios fish tacos are fantastic. :-) Better then Taco Del Mar or any other options you may have avail.
Claim Jumpers a lot of fun too
We were in Phoenix for 18 months and found very little we liked, but those are the picks I can share.

  2. hi jenny! i'm a california girl, but for the first time moved out to NY to go to grad school. Wow, I miss In-N-Out, Cheesecake, another thing I miss: Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, their iced blendeds and cafe vanillas are divine~ Hope you enjoy the West Coast!

  3. I lived in Scottsdale for fourteen years, but all of those establishments were built as soon as I left (only five years ago). Scottsdale is growing SO QUICKLY. My parents still live less than a mile away from that In-N-Out Burger you went to. I wish the Trader Joe's next door had been there when I lived there. Have you ever been to a Trader Joe's? It's like a grocery, but still you should step in & check it out. I LOVE Trader Joe's! They have the best (and cheapest) canned refried beans, I swear. My husband and I always bring several cans back with us when we visit. People think we're a bit nutsy, but hey. Ooo! If you visit "old" Scottsdale, you should have a smoothie at Smoothie King. That is the best smoothie establishment on Earth. Their Light & Fluffy kicks Jamba Juice's ass! There is a SK in the part of Scottsdale you are in, but really, the run down one in Old Town Scottsdale is soooo much better! Have fun! -- Steph

  4. I can vouch for all of your eating establishments. I like every one of them. And Sephora is loved by my wife and daughter. They have gobs of cosmetics. I second the Rubio's suggestion. They have the best fish tacos. I love them. Try them if at all possible and let us know what you think, since you're a self-professed tacoholic. I hope you're having fun in Arizona!
