Is this a typical position for a cat? He does this all the time, it cracks me up. It just doesn't look right.

  1. All three of our cats do this, especially when it starts getting warm. No worries, it's normal!

  2. How cute, all stretched out!

  3. How funny that his tail is hooked to the left in each pic! Our dogs used to lie this way when they were pups.

  4. Only one of my cats does this and he only does it when it's really hot.

It's one of my most favorite cat positions.

  8. I thought my cat had weird ways to lie down, but this is even weirder! perhaps she doesn't do it because it never gets really warm where I live!

  9. I haven't seen this yet. My cats tend to tip this over, same position but on their side, often with tail lifted to cool the bum, tool.

  10. Kitties are amazing. He's just stretching. My parents cat and both my brothers stretch like that. Sniff I have allergies and can't have kitties. Darn!

  11. I have a cat and I have never seen her do this sort of move! She does it on her side but never right on her belly! That is so funny!! Now, my dogs, they do this all the time...

  12. That is so funny...I have two cats and they both do this when the weather gets too hot. They like the feeling of the cold floor on their belly.

Does Oscar do the same thing...maybe it was a learned trait...lol.

  14. One of my cats does this all the time! That's her normal position, other than the one we call the 'Zuzu stance', which is when she sits all lopsided-like.
    Cats are odd.

  16. Zoe does this too. She also stands on all fours and stretches each leg individually, sort of like a ballerina.

  19. I have had cats all my life and my cats have never done this, but interestingly my rabbit did. He would always get really close to the sliding door and assume the pose to cool off after a series of sprints around the apartment.

  20. Raising my hand... we ALSO have the same rug! LOL

Yes, our kitty does that too. I swear he is nearly twice his normal length when he's all stretched.

  22. Raise your hand if you think Foodiechickie's brothers must be very limber.

"My parents cat and both my brothers stretch like that."
