Oscar and Stewie got me some plants for Mother's Day and we planted them today. I think this is the earliest we have ever started our gardening in the spring... the weather has been weird this year. The window boxes and planters are done, but they look strange because nothing is blooming yet.

My Lily of the Valley's are going to town but kiss them goodbye. They have grown like mad and taken over the flower bed, so Aaron is pulling them up and we are replanting. Here is the project page for the beginnings of our flower efforts.

  2. Glad you are getting rid of them, Jenny! Lily of the Valley are poisonous to both cats and dogs.

  3. Wow, I didn't know Lily of the Valley grew easily. They are so expensive for just a little bouquet. You are lucky to have so many. :)

  4. Ew... I didn't know it was poisonous to cats and dogs.

I am going to give a bunch of it to a friend and I am going to try to put some in planters.

  6. Indeed be grateful for those Lilies of the Valley! They're downright impossible to grow on the West Coast, and like someone else said, so expensive! $60 for a small bunch! You have at least $120 or $180 worth of them right there!! Not to mention their wonderful smell. :) I'm jealous!
