We love our Roomba, but now with Stewie joining the family we needed another vacuum. We got a Eureka Optima. I was sucked (heh heh) in by the loop telescoping handle. Erm... the green color might have had something to do with it too.

We might want to look into the power paw too.

  1. That's one groovy lookin' vacuum! I want one. :) Ours is in storage in Texas, and we've been using one of those bright yellow canister vacuums that Wal-Mart was selling for 20$ this past Christmas. It has already BROKEN, and is a complete piece of trash. I have taken to sweeping the carpet for better results. I can't wait to get back to Texas in a few weeks to go to my storage unit!!!

  3. We have a Eureka Altima with a Power Paw and I love it. I would love it more if my husband let me use it, he thinks it's so cool he won't share. Meanie.

  6. We have an Optima at the moment (it came with our rental house), and I'm giving it a mixed review. The canister has to be cleaned out more often that than I thought or else the suction isn't very suction-y. Maybe that's how all vacuums with that type of canister work (and I'm just weird for thinking that it should be quite a bit more full before it needs emptying); I really don't know because I've always used uprights with bags prior to this!

  7. It would be hard to get me to buy another bagless vac. Besides the extra filter expense - those things make a mess to empty. Bag vacs are pretty hard to get these days.

I wanted to know how you really like that handle. It looks rather awkward.

  8. The handle worked great and I was amazed how much dirt it sucked up with just five little rugs and one larger rug.
