I am always trying to find ways to make my trip to the beach last a little longer. My tan is fading but doing things with the shells I bring home take me right back to my vacation.

When I was shell gathering I got frustrated the ones with holes in them. Then it dawned on me I should be able to use those shells for something. I had everyone gathering them. I came home with enough to make a Seashell Garland for several people.

I put pictures of how I made them on my Project Gallery. (note the seashell picture frame I made with glue and sand last year on my mantle... I added it to the Project Gallery too!)

  1. Wow, you can similarily make a chunky jewelry necklace with a shell. Great job as always.

  2. I told you that you were a creative genius. ;) What an awesome idea. You certainly know how to keep us coming back.

  3. The holes are how the creatures died. Other mollusks drill into the shells and eat the soft body inside (the end of the shell is the best place for getting at that body and getting the shell to pop open).

  5. So cute! I was thinking of copying your idea, but I can never, ever find even one decent little shell here on the Los Angeles beaches. Hmmm... maybe another excuse to take a big beach vacation :)
