Today, Tina and I went into the city and began our tour of cupcake joints.

Pictured here... a chocolate cupcake from Miette and a vanilla cupcake from Citizen Cupcake.

  2. Hi Jenny--That one from Miette looks so good. It is one of those shops that I would love to OWN myself in my little-village fantasy, where everyone is a merchant or cobbler. I remember seeing on the menu that their name for a yellow cake w/ chocolate frosting was the "bumblebee" or something cute like that!

If you are a fan of all things baked and come back to SF, there are 2 Beard Papa's (the Japanese cream puff place) here, one that is very close to SF Museum of Modern Art. www.beardpapasf.com

The words on the chocolate candy wrapper mean "To beloved little Hellen" (it is in Russian)

I had a great fun to read your daily and see all that you've done. Nice to meet you. My name is Yelena, simply, Lena. May I be you regular visitor?

  4. They were both delicious! I really liked the marshmallow topping on the Miette cupcake.

My favorite so far though is the ones from Teacakes.

  6. I was all ready to correct you, "it's citizen CAKE not CUPCAKE!" But I followed the link. How cool! I will definitely check it out the next time I'm in SF. Thanks again LJC. I learn so many fun things from your site.
