crafts

I heard Martha mention her Michael's craft line a few weeks ago. We have lots of Michael's in Rochester so I was pretty excited. When I went and saw an entire aisle of Martha Crafts I was estatic.

The craft supplies are great and the packaging is amazing. I had to get a few things, my favorite of which is a bone folder. She uses one all the time, but I was never able to find one. I am sure it is going to make all the difference for my crafts.

  1. Oh my friend, you need to know about Paper Source!!
It's the coolest place ever. There are bone folders galore and lots of other stuff that puts Michael's to shame (tho I also really like the new MS line). There aren't any stores near you yet, unfortunately, but go to the website, and if you're ever in the Boston area, check out one of the 4 stored there! www.paper-source.com

  6. Oh this post made me laugh out loud...Thanks for the preview ljc -I have wondered about bone folders since I first saw Martha with one about 7 years ago. I've never seen them anywhere but her show so I guessed you had to inherit one from back in the olden days. I'm glad she has brought her military neatness to Michael's...I hope they have hired someone to keep it up to her standards...I may be tempted to move the pinks in with the blues or something.

  7. Girl...you are my SOURCE for cutting edge retail-craft news. I am looking forward to checking a station out at a Michael's. You make Rochester seem like it really rocks; the last time I went there (for a wedding), I went to the famous cemetery (Besides the wedding, that was the highlight) :)

P.S. The satisfaction of using a bone folder is immeasurable for paper crafts!

  8. Ooh, I didn't see the bone folder when I skimmed the Martha section at my local Michael's - I want one for origami! I picked up the 26 animal alphabet cards/prints & the fiesta garland, but need to go back & shop in earnest soon!

  9. I've had my bone folder for about 10 years. Life without a bone folder is a life not worth living. You can quote me on that.

  10. I got my bone folder from Stampin' Up years ago, so if you know anyone that is a scrapbook/stampin' and can't get to a Michael's or Hobby Lobby check with them. The hard edge of just about anything works in a pinch.

  11. I agree with JustJENN I have used a bone folder for years and wouldn't go without it. I had an art teacher in high school who showed me it's value. When I worked at Michael's a few years ago they carried them in the regular scrapbook section. They also have them at art supply stores. Can't wait to check out the MS stuff!
