White Castle in NYC

Walking to my hotel I spotted this White Castle. I thought "What the heck?" and went in. I just watched Harold and Kumar. Tastes pretty good at eleven o'clock at night.

  1. That's when White Castles actually taste the best - late late late at night. :-)

  2. Yes, late at night after your taste buds have gone to sleep.

  3. Icky! Denis tries to get these every time we visit his folks...as far as I'm concerned, they're not even food. (The onion rings aren't too bad, though.) Maybe the problem is that I haven't tried them that late? ;)

  6. My mom love(d)s White Castle burgers, but there is no accounting for taste - she grew up in southern Illinois and likes liver and onions.

When I was young we found them in the freezer section of our grocery store and tried them - once.

  7. In the South I grew up on Kytstals... which is similar to the White Castles... I still love them today and will go out of my way to go get some!!!

  8. I've only had the little frozen kind and those aren't very good. I'm sure they're much better fresh.

How are they compared to In & Out?

  9. White Castles is a staple in the midwest and I can confirm that they ONLY taste good after a night of drinking (usually the next morning) and are great at soaking up leftover alcohol in your system.

  10. My coworkers and I love The WC Lounge!!

for some, it's an acquired taste or for others they may need a shake to temper their bellies while eating sliders! ;)

  11. We grew up on those things...actually it was a highschool/college ritual. After a night of partying you HAD to have White Castles.

  12. Yvette - oh they don't compare to In-n-Out! In-n-Out is way better!

  13. Just a note... there is no White Castle in Cherry Hill, NJ as Harold and Kumar are in search of. NONE. Nada. Zip. Very disappointing for me as I live in the next town over from Cherry hill. There is not a White Castle within a 50 mile radius of here!

Thanks for making me crave it now!
