Lost Ladybug Project

When I was taking photos of the sunflowers and hoards of bees, I did get one shot of a lone ladybug. Who doesn't think ladybugs are cute? But did you know some ladybugs are becoming extremely rare and it's a mystery as to why.

When I first posted this ladybug photo someone directed me to lostladybug.org

The Lost Ladybug Project is about tracking the different kinds of ladybugs and trying to figure out what is going on. The Department of Entomology at Cornell University in Ithaca is part of the study.

They have guides to identifying the ladybugs, uploading photos and entering where you saw them. I haven't found one of the nine-spotted ladybugs they are looking for yet, but I have my eyes peeled!
