When we were on our Maple Weekend trip, we made the traditional stop at Cuba Cheese Shoppe. It is so handy to have a two and a half pound block of delicious cheddar in your fridge.
We tried something new this time and picked up some smoked cheese. Smoked habanero pepper cheese and some smoked mozzerella. Cheese becomes smoked cheese exactly the way you think it would. It's smoke cured by exposing it to burning wood. You can smoke cheese yourself with your BBQ grill.
I found some different ways to use smoked cheese and am looking forward to trying them out!
