Like I mentioned we got all our movie picks this year, so we are seeing some great films. Here is a quick rundown.
The Merchant of Venice: It was a little hard to get the gist of what was going on in the first half of the film since it was little action... lots of Shakespearean speak, but the second half picked up and it was funny and clever. It was funny how Al Pacino still sounded like Al Pacino... just in tights.
The Machinist: I cannot stress how shocking it was to see Christian Bale (the next Batman) playing an insomniac paranoid parts machinist. He had lost 60 pounds to play the role. The story was eerie and made me jump... but mostly I can't believe how grossly skinny Christian was.
Noel: this was a combination of several stories playing out over the holidays... lonely people trying to find their way through their troubles. Tina and I cried through most of it.
I looooove the normally-sized Christian Bale. Ever since he was in "Little Women," I've been sweet on him.

That said, I probably won't go see The Machinist, but I can't wait for his Batman movie!
Christian Bale is an incredible actor. So many sides to him. I can't wait to see him in Batman. You should see Equilibrium.
