For Tina's birthday we took a road trip to the Corning Museum of Glass. We spent a lot of time staring at paperweights and our reflections. Then we had a workshop where we got to make glass pumpkins and Christmas ornaments.

Pictures of the day in my Gallery.

  1. I went there when I visited Ithaca College and Cornell! I really loved going there ... and seeing them blow glass. I'd love to learn how to do that ...

  2. The Corning glass museum!!! I went there several times as a kid -- my grandma and aunt live in Elmira NY and when we visited them in the Summers we'd go on little road trips. I totally remember watching the guy do the glass blowing, it was so cool!

  3. I worked at Corning. Not in Corning, NY but Wilmington, NC. Layoffs happened, but it was a great company. I see you went through the history of Corning Glass with the light bulb machine. Kinda neat.
