We went to see the movie In Her Shoes and I am loving the little dog in it. I have no idea what kind of dog he is. Others have wondered the same thing.

Some say he is a terrier mix... some say he is a Bullnese. I think he looks like a pug crossed with a daschund

  1. The dog I really, really want right now is a Pugle. Have you seen them? They are a mix of a Pug and a Beagle and are super adorable! They're pretty pricey but there's no Pugle breeders here in my city. Hmmm.........

  2. Was he a pug in the book? I thought he was a mutt that she got from a frat house? I am looking forward to seeing the movie, but the book? The book is one of my favorites.

  3. I read the book too, and was pretty disappointed to see that he wasn't a pug in the movie. :(

  4. It was definitely a pug in the pug. A pug named Petunia if I remember correctly. I read this book a couple of years ago and the only reason I bought it was because of the pug on the back cover!!

  6. I'm also bummed that it wasn't a pug like in the book (being a pug owner and all). I think it looks like a pug/dachshund mix to me. Or maybe a pug/pek mix?

  8. That's a clipped Pekinese or a Peke cross. They usually have long hair. How disappointing as the dog in the book was a pug.

  9. Hi. I don't know what that dog is, but I have a pug/dachsund mix (as well as pure bred pugs), and she doesn't look ANYTHING like that. She looks like an extra long pug, with a bit of a snout, and her ears stand up like a rabbit. I know that sounds bad, but she is really very cute. I get compliments on her all of the time.

  10. I found this on Wikipedia:
Rufus, the dog that Maggie kidnaps and brings to her apartment, is a mixed breed. Although originally in Jennifer Weiner's book, Rufus is a purebred pug. Film director Curtis Hanson changed the breed to a mixed dog as he cited that movies often inspire audiences to buy dogs featured prominently in a film, like Men In Black. Hanson wanted to use a mutt as the movie might inspire its viewers to adopt a dog from a pound.

  11. I'd say Puggle. I have two of them. She looks like one of mine only with a more "Pug" snout...
