More of Portland

I owe so much to the great travel advice I get in my blog comments and twitter. Traveling via social media suggestions - there is nothing like it. Helpful tips have made it so much easier to get to the gems in an unfamiliar city.

Dinner was at Hubers Cafe - Portland's Oldest Restaurant! And they mean it. They have the data to back this up.

When I sat down and saw the front of the menu, I thought "Hummm, a turkey!" Sure enough they specialize in turkey!

The most recommended spot in Portland was Voodoo Doughnut!

It's tiny but it has engaging donut decor.

There was quite the array of doughnuts to choose from. Beth my work travel buddy is reenacting doughnut amazement.

I know everyone told me to get the bacon maple bar but I succumbed to the classic voodoo doll doughnut which bleeds jam. (these pics are from the website cause mine was squished beyond recognition)

Right along the way was Stumptown Coffee Roasters. I appreciated the little details like their cool biz cards, treats for dogs and the fancy milk artistry.

Thank you everyone for your most excellent recommendations!
