Snorkeling in Hanauma Bay

I have never been snorkeling before, but this seemed like a good time to try it. We bought gear at the NEX and practiced in the pool one evening. Everyone said one of the best spots is Hanauma Bay so that's where we went. Lots of reefs and fish.

Unfortunately the batteries ran out in my underwater camera so I got a few pics of us snorkeling around.

And then two pictures of fish.

We bought a neat fish identification book you can take in the water - I think these are Convict Tang aka Manini.

This might be a Ladyfish/awa'aua.

And that is it for the fish pictures. We saw a lot more fish... butterfly fish. parrot fish... each more amazing than the last. But no pictures... we just had to look with our eyeballs, the old fashioned way.

Waikiki Aquarium

I have been planning outings to keep busy while Aaron is on duty.

I stopped in at the Waikiki Aquarium to check out the fish.

Nemo!

Whenever I see an animal that spends a lot of time stretched out napping, I think... PUG!

Found and caught

Aaron was pretty successful at the beach. He found a huge shell.

And he caught a fish for supper.

Shark Reef

During my stay in Vegas I met up with my friends Peggy and Walt. We went to check out the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. I have always wanted to visit it.

The only fish i could get good pictures of were slow, sleepy ones that didn't move much like this lionfish.

I usually don't get sucked into buying the souvenir pictures they sell at tourist attractions but I had to have this one. I am the only one that looks truly appalled at the thought of being chomped on while Peggy seems more pleasantly surprised and Walt looks absolutely delighted to see Sharky.

Meet Donald

We have a new addition to our household. I have been wanting a fish for awhile, but we were worried about Stewie snacking on it. So Aaron got me a little tank for birthday week (it's post-birthday week this year instead of a pre-birthday week)

And he got me this fella to live in the tank. After my experience with the Celebrity Apprentice last week, I named him Donald.
