Shiny Brite Glass Ornaments

My mom is the thrifting queen! She found me all these boxes full of vintage Shiny Brite glass Christmas ornaments!

I love the colors and shapes. Note lurking photo bombing pug.

Shiny Brite ornaments were first produced in the 1940's in partnership with Corning Glass Company. Corning isn't too far from Rochester which makes me like them even more.

I love this one. It's pink and it has planets on it. Win win.

The funky shaped ones are great. And note the frosting.

I don't know how they made these indentation ornaments but I love them.

A mini tear drop intentation ornament!

Interesting fact: During WWII, since metal was needed for the war effort, the metal cap and loop on the ornaments was replaced with a cardboard tab you could tie a string to for hanging. I haven't found one yet, but I keep looking!

Today Shiny Brite ornaments are made by Christopher Radko. It's nice that they are still available.

Looks like I have another collection obsession!

Making Gourdon the Snowman

At last year's South Wedge Holiday Craft Bazaar the Gourdon the Snowman ornaments were really popular so I'm making a big gang of them for this year.

They look so funny laying on my tray waiting for the next addtion to their outfit.

I got some funny shaped Gourdons this year that made good snowman heads.

I took a few of the Gourdons out to my grandmother's holly bush for some beauty shots.

Wegmans Ornament

Every year we get one new Christmas tree ornament. This year we got this Wegman's ornament. It was the first one on the tree!

New Starbucks Ornament

My Starbucks ornament collection has been slowly growing.

This year I added a little cold drink cup - love it! This is what I get my iced coffees in during the summertime. So cute!
