Christmas decoration wrap-up

December is almost over so here is a quick peek at some of the other Christmas decorations I had up this year. The mantelscape theme was my collection of German wood Christmas pyramids and a few minature deer figures.

My mom got me this vintage aluminum tree last Christmas and I was very excited to have it for my vintage Shiny Brite ornaments.

Aaron also got me new Shiny Brite ornaments! Yes, they are still making them!

I put a string of wire LED lights on the tree and they really lit it up!

I am a big fan of these wire LED lights. I think I will have to do a post just about them.

Shiny Brite Glass Ornaments

My mom is the thrifting queen! She found me all these boxes full of vintage Shiny Brite glass Christmas ornaments!

I love the colors and shapes. Note lurking photo bombing pug.

Shiny Brite ornaments were first produced in the 1940's in partnership with Corning Glass Company. Corning isn't too far from Rochester which makes me like them even more.

I love this one. It's pink and it has planets on it. Win win.

The funky shaped ones are great. And note the frosting.

I don't know how they made these indentation ornaments but I love them.

A mini tear drop intentation ornament!

Interesting fact: During WWII, since metal was needed for the war effort, the metal cap and loop on the ornaments was replaced with a cardboard tab you could tie a string to for hanging. I haven't found one yet, but I keep looking!

Today Shiny Brite ornaments are made by Christopher Radko. It's nice that they are still available.

Looks like I have another collection obsession!

Christmas Mantelscape: Milk Glass and Vintage Shiny Brite

I tried something very different with our holiday decorations this year. We are in the middle of our DIY kitchen renovation, which means everything from the kitchen is now in the dining room. It seems like there are boxes sitting all over the house. It makes the house appear extra cluttered and our containers of Christmas decorations in the attic seem so far away.

Instead of fighting my way to the Christmas boxes and dragging everything out, I took my milk glass collection, put it on the mantle, and added pink, gold and turquoise vintage Shiny Brite Christmas tree ornaments.

Simple and clean. I love how this mantelscape looks at night with a couple candles lit.

Oh and the centerpiece is one of the wreaths left over from the craft bazaar.

I think it's one of my favorite mantelscape!

More handmade Shiny Brite ornament Christmas wreaths

I'm still making vintage Christmas ornament wreaths for the South Wedge Holiday Craft Bazaar. This is a favorite, love the colors.

This one includes a chalkboard ornament that you can customize with your own message. I have this wreath-making down to a process now. The hardest part is picking out the ornaments for a color scheme.

I made two more baublesicles too. Red and gold this time.
