mystery nut
When we dug up my carrots we found a strange looking object under the dirt amongst the carrots. I thought it was a prickly pear. How could a prickly pear be growing with my carrots? (I wasn't thinking clearly)
Aaron suspected the rascally squirrels had buried the mystery object in the garden. He donned safety glasses and cracked open the mystery object with a hammer and screwdriver (any excuse to get out tools).
Turns out it was an innocent chestnut. Looks like a buckeye chestnut. The squirrels will be disapointed when they head back for their nutty treat.
