Mushrooms growth spurt

When we started the mushroom kit we got for an advent treat I was skeptical. My dad had no luck with two kits and several people mentioned online that theirs either molded or only grew fruit flies.

But sure enough after a couple days these little guys started to grow.

They grew pretty rapidly after that. There was a lot of talk around the house of them applying to college and getting their drivers license soon.

They turned out pretty nice. I had plans for making an omlet out of these but we didn't have time so I dried them. I would like to try growing other kinds of mushrooms.

Advent calendar treats

It's fun putting together treats for each day of the advent calendar. One night we had warm chocolate pudding on vanilla ice cream.

We started a mushroom farm.

And had warm cinnamon buns for breakfast.

I took a lot of mushroom photos while we were at the state park.

I really like getting in close on the mushrooms.

There were cute mushrooms.

And ugly ones. Aaron said this looked like a chewed up piece of gum.

With all the rain we have had lately there are a lot of mushrooms popping up around my neighborhood.

I love mushrooms.

And the woods is full of them.

I love eating mushrooms and now like so many others I am becoming obsessed with mushroom everything. I got these Decole mushroom magnets in Boston.

And these Decole mushroom pushpins.

They hold up my Williams Sonoma recipe cards and Martha Stewart craft project cards from Michaels nicely.
