I was so intrigued with the idea of guerilla drive ins that I borrowed a digital projector and we set up a movie in my back yard. It took awhile to get the kinks out. I needed a special cable to hook the projector up to my eMac so we lugged that back inside and brought out the dvd player. Then we couldn't get the speakers to work until I noticed a headphone jack on the front of the dvd player and we were in business. After we grilled shrimp tortillas we set up our lawn chairs and enjoyed "Trilogy of Terror" *ay yi yi yi yahhh!*... (see story on Tina's blog). It was so much fun!

I want to do it again with all my friends over, but the weekend is calling for thunderstorms. Maybe I can have horror flicks and the fire pit on Halloween! (oh and those big tan things in my driveway are pallets of stone for my soon-to-be-patio)

    That is a VERY cool idea ... never would have thought of doing something like that! Would be great for a party ... maybe we'll try that sometime! :)

    Omg, that looks like so much fun! The only bad thing would be how close your neighbors were... and if you like them, I guess! now I know why I have so little creative talent.. you've got it all! and those baby onsies are soo cute.. *sighs*

    We used to do this quite a bit at our old house... we would put our TV in the front window of the house and sit in the front yard on lawn chairs and watch movies. We were quite the neighborhood hit!

    I have a couple of mags: Instyle and Country Living that have setup a party with a projector showing movies, one next to a pool (dive in movies) and the other on the side of a barn with popcorn coming from a genuine popcorn cart! I love those ideas...And yea home improvement!

    That is such a great idea - love it!

    I remember reading a Budget Living article where they had an outdoor slumber party and rolled TVs outside to watch horror movies...I've been thinking about doing this but a projector would be even better!

    my roommates were going to do this two years ago but couldn't get a hold of a projector... it would be so fun.
