Quite awhile ago I picked up the new Method wood and stainless steel cleaner. The wood cleaner smells dangerously like almond macaroons *glug glug glug*. Today I hit the motherload of new Method products. I discovered that they now make dishwasher cubes and laundry stuff. I got the pink grapefruit cubes and the fresh air laundry soap, softner and dryer sheets. At first I thought they were overpriced but then I realized that they were so small because you use a very small amount. One little bottle does 32 loads.

I checked out the Method website and found they also have hand lotion and candles. I have yet to see those on the shelves but I will be on the lookout!

  2. I *love* these products. I get them at Target. I think my favorite product is the linen water. I put it in my iron and it makes the clothes smell really nice!

  3. Yay! I love method! I have laundry stuff and dish stuff on my list and tomorrow I will be getting the method laundry stuff instead of my usual brand. Thanks for calling it to my attention.

  4. I just got some green tea hand soap! It smells awesome. I am finishing up some floral-scented purple dish soap that I am not too impressed with. The bottle is really hard to get the last parts out of. :)

  5. Ohh...I bought the fresh air fabric softner and dryer sheets this weekend, as well. They smell AMAZING! I was so eager to use them that I pitched the rest of my Downey and Bounce.

  6. I love the blog.

If anyone is in the San Francisco Area Method has put up a store near Union Square for the next couple of months. They carry the whole line.

  7. Jenny,

You might check Target for the candles. My Target, in Ohio, had the grapefruit candles in the air freshener aisle. It smelled great.

  8. I got one of the candles "Paris in the Rain" (or something like that) at Linens-n-Things this weekend. I wanted to buy several candles, they smelled so good! It's not as strong as I wish it would be once lit, but I still enjoy it. I saw the lotion there as well.

  9. I really want to know about the method laundry detergent - I saw it in a Target ad. It's so concentrated! I'm hoping it's not too sudsy, because I can't have a lot of suds for my front-loading washer. If anyone has used it, please let me know if it's mega sudsy. Usually the super concentrated laundry detergents aren't sudsy, but you never know until you try.

  10. drugstore.com has the candles as well. They're where I order the more obscure handsoap scents though they don't always ship well (they tend to open in their packaging but they shrinkwrap them so the soap doesn't get everywhere). Here's the drugstore.com "method store":

  11. I have tried the Method dish soap, hand soap and window cleaner and found them all to be very ineffective. I can use 1/4 of a bottle of the Method dish soap and the suds give out after a few dishes. They smell OK but they just don't clean very well.

  12. I have read articles that the suds actually don't do anything. They are not good for the environment, but manufacturers add them to shampoo etc. because people expect them to be there.

"Some consumers have an incorrect understanding that a large quantity of suds will improve washing. In fact, a synthetics detergent which are used in the Pulsator and Agitator washing machines will produce as much suds to meet the consumer's preference."
