  6. I baked some pumpkin and apple pies last week for an International Day at my church. Here in Australia pumpkin is eaten as a savory not as a sweet so it was quite a novelty and everyone LOVED it. I even made it from freshly cooked pumpkin as you cannot by it canned here.

  7. I made an apple pie this weekend! I made the crust with Crisco and I was pretty dissapointed in how it turned out. It wasn't crispy, but it did melt in your mouth! Thank goodness everyone but me loved it! We also made shepard's pie. It is finally getting cold enough out here in CA to enjoy the warm comfort foods.

  8. can u post or email me your pumpkin pie recipe? Your pies look delish. my mom used canned pumpkins in her pumpkin pie...and I think Ina Garten from Barefoot Contessa (a show on Foodtv) does too, so that means canned pumpkin is fine with me!
