Moping around

Aaron has gone off deer hunting with my dad and grandpap. Oscar and Wally are quite depressed to be left behind.

Signs of Christmas

I'm in full swing Christmas mode now. I love the Christmas reusable bags they have at Wegmans. Last I saw they had Hanukkah bags too.

Post Thanksgiving

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Oscar tried his best to get the turkey, but no success. We have been enjoying the leftovers as hot turkey sandwiches!

Second Storie Indie Market 2009

Once again, because I am away at my parents for Thanksgiving I am going to miss the Second Storie Indie Market! If you are in Rochester this weekend you should go though! We are so lucky to have a show of creative, handmade items right here in Rochester. Here are a few of the things that caught my eye.

jewelry by Small Bird, fun stuff from Robit Studios, ceramics by Vicki Hartman, flavored lip balms
from The Fuzzy Bunny, ceramic artist Dulcie Miller, clothing by Photosynthesis.... you can see more items here on the Second Storie blog.

*sigh* so cute. Great idea for your holiday shopping lists. So much more civilized than braving the Black Friday crowds.

Here are the deets for those of you that can go...

Second Storie Indie Market free admission

Sunday, November 29th 11-4

Handmade Nation Movie Screening admission $5

Belgian Chocolates

Having just been in Belgium I am enjoying a surplus of chocolate.

How cute are these little chocolate eggs? White, milk and dark... in their own wee egg carton.

Hotel stuff

Even though I travel a lot I manage to find things I've never seen before. I stumbled around my room in Brussels for quite awhile trying to turn on the lights before I discovered I had to put my key card in the slot to turn on the lights. Energy savings.

My time in the dark was made up for by a towel warmer. This I have seen before of course but still so very appreciated. Ahhhh.

Oscar & Stewie in the new house

Oscar and Stewie are settling into their new home. Having fun poking around and inspecting all the boxes. Sorry for the bad pic - only had my phone handy and needed to catch them before they got up.

New house

So this is our new house.

Note that it is still green.

1900 Dutch Colonial - not far from our old house. I will have more photos in the days to come as we settle in and start to paint!

Moving

Big news. After 7 years in this little green house we are moving.

I have loved this house... enjoyed updating and decorating it.

We aren't moving far, but the new house is considerably bigger. I hope the new owners love this one just as much.

Netherlands

I had a day free in Europe so I took the train to see my friends Mike and Meredith, Lacey Doodle and Little Miss D. Lacey spent a lot of time giving me meaningful stares.

I spent most of the time visting with my friends but I did pop into a cheese shop for a mo. Mmmmm cheese.

Domo in Brussels, Belgium

Here is Domo in the Grand Place in Brussels.

We had a great dinner in Brussels.

Tah-dah! Belgian Waffle for dessert. I am so predictable.

Domo in Waterloo, Belgium

I have arrived in Brussels, Belgium and have all day meetings. I did get a chance to see nearby Waterloo however.

This monument in Waterloo marks the spot where Napoleon was defeated. It had more steps than St. Pauls cathedral.

Domo was happy he wasn't left in the hotel room.

And this will forever be known as "The most beautiful Domo photo ever".

London highlights

Today I was working and speaking at the 140 Conference in London. A highlight was meeting Stephen Fry. He is an accomplished actor, exceedingly bright and all around nice fellow. I especially like him in one of my favorite TV shows... Bones, but I didn't tell him that.

Getting cupcakes came in a close second on my list of London highlights.

In London: Domo-less

My first stop on this business trip is London.

I have seen most of the sights in London, but we had some free time today so I went for a walk with my coworker, Tom.

I brought Domo along to Europe.... he hasn't been... thought it would be great to get some photos. But I left him in the hotel room today! Horror! I lamented all day long.

This is the cutest sign ever though... right?

One thing I haven't done in London is climb to the top of St. Pauls Cathedral - so we did that. All 257 steps worth.

I look normal here - but really I'm dying inside.

The only photos I got of Domo in London are at the O2...

... in a cab...

... and sitting on Lord Somethingorother's lap at Paddington Station. I am so sorry Domo. We will come back to London again someday.

Traveling

I left at the crack of dawn this morning for a business trip to Europe. Here I am jetlagged and hungry in my London hotel room. Blogging will be sketchy as internet connection and time available will be questionable.

Breakfast

Easy- check. Tasty - check. Use of cute egg cup - check. Favorite breakfast treat = soft boiled egg.

Smackerel

I don't know which is funnier - Oscar's head stuffed in the yogurt container like Winnie the Pooh or Stewie smacking his lips hoping to get a morsel.

Keep calm...

You have probably seen these Keep Calm and Carry On posters before. I really like a lot of the new posters they have added to the online store.

Hah hah... good one.

I like this one cause I love tea.

And here is one for the coffee lovers.

Happy Veterans Day from Applebees

i don't think about Aaron being in the military everyday like I used to. But I still remember when he would be gone on the aircraft carrier for six month cruises or stationed in Bahrain for a year.

This Veterans Day, Applebee's is remembering the military too... with a free meal for those who have served.

We hustled on down to Applebee's and Aaron got his thank you dinner. Happy Veterans Day!

Cat hats

Target has their leftover Halloween stuff on sale for 90% off. I was lucky enough to find a few kitty hats, like this chicken one.

And this pharaoh hat.

Oscar started getting jealous so he had to try on the pharaoh hat. I was really hoping to find some pet wigs, but these amused me for an afternoon.

Holiday Tea

Is it okay to start talking about the holidays? We are safely past Halloween right? I love holiday edition stuff. I got a coupon for any Stash holiday tea, so I got a box of the Whilte Christmas... tasty. I would like all the flavors. One for morning, one for evening...

... and one for when I am feeling merry.
